Step 4: Create Your Proposal

Once you know everything there is to know about your volcano, the threat it poses, and towns similar to your potential city, it is time to compile all of your findings into a report that you will propose to the city engineers and officials. The proposal should be organized into sub-headings, with the following headings:

  1. Information about your volcano (researched in Step 1)

  2. Threats that your specific volcano poses (researched in Step 2)

  3. Information about the towns that have been built near your volcano, or next to similar volcanoes (Step 3)

  4. Description of how and where your city should be built in relation to the volcano, and a clear reasoning for your recommendations.

You should also include a list of the sources that you used to gather your information.

After you present, you will hand-in a copy of your proposal, with a copy of your group's notes attached.

Remember, your presentation will be based entirely off of your proposal, so write your proposal with enough detail to persuade your audience to follow your recommendations.
